We try to keep this short and fair. Cancel four hours or more before pickup and you owe nothing. Inside that window, the chauffeur has already shifted their day for you, so partial or full charges apply.
1Standard cancellation
For one-way and airport reservations, the cancellation window is measured from your scheduled pickup time:
- 4+ hoursFree cancellation. No charge to your card.
- 4–1 hours50% of the quoted fare.
- Under 1 hour100% of the quoted fare.
- No-show100% of the quoted fare.
2Hourly & event bookings
Hourly reservations and special-event bookings (weddings, multi-stop dinners, roadshows) require 24 hours' notice for free cancellation. Within 24 hours, 50% of the quoted minimum applies. Within 4 hours or no-show, the full quoted minimum is charged.
3Airport pickups & flight delays
We track your flight automatically using the flight number you provide at booking. If your inbound flight is delayed by the airline, your pickup shifts with it — no charge, no rebooking required, up to a one-hour grace window after you clear the gate.
If your flight is cancelled by the airline and you cannot use the reservation, please notify us as soon as you know. We'll waive the cancellation fee for documented airline cancellations.
4Weather & force majeure
We don't charge cancellation fees when conditions make safe transport impossible (severe storms, road closures, mandatory evacuations, public emergencies). If we have to cancel from our side for the same reason, you'll be refunded in full.
5How to cancel
Cancellations are accepted by phone at 415-622-8765 or by email at bookings@blackcarservice.co. The cancellation timestamp is when we receive your message — not when you sent it. For time-sensitive cancellations, please call rather than email.
Self-serve cancellation through the customer portal is on the roadmap; for now please contact us directly.
6Refunds
Eligible refunds are issued to the original payment method within 3–5 business days. If you paid by Stripe or Square, refunds appear on your card statement; if you paid by Zelle or Venmo, we refund through the same channel.
