These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Black Car Service website, booking form, and ground-transportation services provided by Black Car Service LLC, a California limited liability company (“we,” “us,” or “Black Car Service”). By booking a ride, submitting our booking form, or providing your mobile number, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not book a ride.
1Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract under California law to make a reservation. If you are booking on behalf of another passenger or a company, you represent that you have authority to do so and to bind that passenger or company to these Terms.
2Reservations and our agreement
A reservation is formed when we send you a written confirmation (by email or SMS) quoting your reservation ID. You are responsible for the accuracy of the pickup time and address, dropoff address, passenger count, flight number (if any), and contact details you provide. Black Car Service is not liable for missed pickups, missed flights, or additional charges that result from inaccurate information you supply.
We may refuse or cancel a reservation if (i) the requested service is outside our permitted operating area, (ii) we cannot reasonably verify your identity or payment method, or (iii) we have a good-faith reason to believe service would violate law or our safety rules. If we cancel for one of these reasons before pickup, we will refund any amounts already charged.
3Pricing, fares, and fees
Quoted fares include the base rate for the route, applicable wait time, tolls, and taxes shown on your confirmation. Additional charges may apply for: extra stops, significant route changes requested at the time of pickup, wait time beyond the included grace period, airport access fees imposed by the airport authority, cleaning fees for spills or damage, and gratuity (if not already included on your confirmation). All prices are in U.S. dollars.
4Payment authorization
By providing a payment card you authorize us to charge that card for the confirmed fare and any additional charges described in section 3, as well as any cancellation fee under section 5. Card processing is performed by Stripe under Stripe’s terms; we do not store your full card number. If a charge is declined, we may suspend service until payment is resolved.
5Cancellation and no-shows
Our cancellation fees are described in detail at /cancellation. In summary: cancellations made well before pickup are free; cancellations close to pickup are charged a portion of the fare; and cancellations after the chauffeur has been dispatched are charged the full fare. A no-show — where the chauffeur arrives at the confirmed pickup location at the confirmed time and the passenger cannot be reached after a reasonable wait — is treated as a cancellation at pickup and charged in full.
6Passenger conduct and refusal of service
For the safety of the passenger, the chauffeur, the vehicle, and other road users, you agree that you and your passengers will not:
- Engage in violent, threatening, or abusive behavior toward the chauffeur or others.
- Be intoxicated to a degree that creates a meaningful risk of harm or property damage, or consume alcohol in the vehicle except where lawful and pre-arranged.
- Smoke or vape in the vehicle.
- Carry, use, or transport illegal drugs or unlawful firearms.
- Damage, soil, or deface the vehicle.
- Exceed the seating capacity of the vehicle as listed on your confirmation.
The chauffeur may refuse boarding, end the trip, or contact local law enforcement if any of the above occurs. If service is terminated under this section, the full fare remains due and we may charge a cleaning or damage fee equal to our actual cost (with documentation provided on request).
7Lost property
We will make a reasonable effort to return property left in the vehicle. We are not responsible for items lost or damaged during a ride. Unclaimed items may be donated or discarded after 30 days.
8SMS messaging program
By providing your mobile number on our booking form and submitting a booking, you consent to receive transactional SMS messages from Black Car Service related to your reservation, including booking confirmations, ride reminders, receipts, review requests, payment requests, and cancellations.
Message frequency. Frequency varies based on your bookings and account activity. A single trip typically generates between two and six messages.
Costs. Message and data rates may apply depending on your wireless plan. Black Car Service is not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages caused by your wireless carrier; carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Opt out — reply STOP. You can cancel SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message we send. After you send STOP we will send one confirmation message and then stop sending you SMS. You will continue to receive any required transactional emails for active reservations.

We do not sell, rent, or share opt-in information or phone numbers with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See section 3 of our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle SMS data.
9Disclaimer of warranties
Except as expressly stated in these Terms or required by law, our services and website are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by California law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Some limitations of warranty are not allowed under California law and do not apply to you.
10Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by California law, our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of a single reservation is limited to the amount you paid for that reservation. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, missed connections, or missed events, arising from delays caused by traffic, weather, road closures, mechanical issues, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or intentional misconduct, or any rights you have under California Civil Code § 1668 or the Consumers Legal Remedies Act (Cal. Civ. Code § 1750 et seq.).
11Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Black Car Service, our chauffeurs, and our affiliates harmless from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) damage to the vehicle caused by you or a passenger booked under your reservation, or (c) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party. This section does not apply to any liability we cannot lawfully shift to you.
12Force majeure
We are not in breach of these Terms if performance is delayed or prevented by an event beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, wildfire or other natural disaster, civil unrest, road or airport closure, government order, labor disruption, or failure of a third-party service provider.
13California consumer notices
Right to cancel. If you are entitled to cancel this contract under California law, your cancellation rights are described in section 5 and at /cancellation.
Complaints. Pursuant to California Civil Code § 1789.3, California residents may report complaints about this service or request information from the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs by mail at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210.
CPUC oversight.Charter-party carrier service in California is regulated by the California Public Utilities Commission. You may contact the CPUC’s Consumer Affairs Branch at 1-800-894-9444.
California privacy rights. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA described in our Privacy Policy, including the right to know, correct, delete, and limit the use of personal information, and the right to opt out of any sale or sharing — though we do not sell or share personal information.
14Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The exclusive venue for any action arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of our services is the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of any mandatory provision of California consumer-protection law that would otherwise apply.
15Disputes; informal resolution; small claims
Most concerns can be resolved quickly. Before filing any formal action, please contact us at bookings@blackcarservice.cowith a description of the issue and your reservation ID; we will work in good faith to resolve it within 30 days. Either of us may bring an individual action in small claims court for any dispute within that court’s jurisdiction at any time. We do not require binding arbitration or class-action waivers as a condition of using our services.
16Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be highlighted to customers with active reservations by email or SMS as appropriate. Reservations confirmed before a change are governed by the version of the Terms in effect at the time of confirmation.
17Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and the cancellation policy at /cancellation, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the services.
