The Bay Area’s landmark crossing

Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge can be experienced from the bridge plaza, by walking or cycling part of the span, or from nearby park viewpoints. Choose your preferred perspective first; fog, wind, and traffic can shape the visit.

01

Start at the bridge plaza

The plaza and Welcome Center offer visitor information and a starting point for a walk onto the bridge. Check current access and transit guidance before setting out.

02

Choose a shoreline viewpoint

Crissy Field, the Presidio, and Marin Headlands each frame the bridge differently. Pick one viewpoint that suits your route and check visibility on the day.
